fig. i — the archive, summerVol. 01 · Y2K Vintage
You weren't born in the wrong era — you just haven't found the right wardrobe yet.
A quiet archive of second-hand and vintage pieces for women, in every size and every style. Each garment chosen, washed, and sent on with care.
A note from Tilly
"Every piece I source is chosen with an eye for quality, detail and a little bit of the unexpected — one-off garments meant to give you a sense of individuality, and leave you wondering who wore them first, and what memories were made in them."
— Tilly, founder
My passion has always been pre-loved. Long before "sustainable" was a word on every label, I was the girl rummaging through charity shops on a Saturday morning, pulling out a forgotten silk blouse and wondering who wore it first.
Just Tilly began with a simple thought: a wardrobe should feel like yours — not a copy of whatever the algorithm served you that week. Vintage and second-hand pieces give us a kind of individuality that a brand-new rail of identical clothing simply can't.
I studied textiles at university in the south of the UK, and it was there my love for the craft deepened into something bigger — a love for sustainability, and a quiet anger at how much the industry wastes. Textile pollution, landfill mountains, the CO₂ cost of a single fast-fashion top: once you've seen the numbers, you can't really unsee them.
I believe in clothes that last. In fabric that has already proved itself. In a slower, kinder way of dressing. Every piece I list has been chosen, washed, and considered — and selected for women with style.
What memories does a garment hold? A summer it was packed for. A first dance. The morning someone wore it and felt, finally, like themselves. I love the idea of passing that on.
Welcome in. Stay a while. Take something home, and make a new memory in it.
— Tilly
